\"\"Dental Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain bonded to the front of the tooth to improve its size, shape, length and color. They are most often used to correct gaps between teeth and to fix minor bite related issues and fractures, or to cover up teeth that are discolored. Torghele and Schmid Dental offers custom veneer treatments to our patients in the Ogden area.

Planning, Preparation & Bonding

To determine if veneers are right for you, Dr. Jeffrey Torghele will do a consultation and in some cases take additional x-rays or impressions.

To make room for the veneer, Dr. Jeff will prepare the tooth/teeth and remove about 1/2 millimeter of enamel. The next step is to take an impression to send to the lab where they will fabricate your veneer; which usually takes about 2 weeks. In most cases, after the impression is taken, temporary veneers will be placed.

Before the veneer is bonded to the tooth, your dentist will try it on to check the fit and color. Some adjustments may be made before the cement is applied. Next the tooth will be cleaned, cement applied, cured and excess cement removed. Dr. Jeff will then check your bite and make any final adjustments that are needed.
