Zoom! Whitening is used all over the world to help lighten stained or discolored teeth. Discolored enamel and dentin may be genetic, or a result of lifestyle choices including drinking dark soda, tea, coffee, red wine, or from smoking. The bleach placed on the teeth contains hydrogen peroxide, and as it breaks down, oxygen enters the enamel/dentin resulting in whiter teeth. The Zoom! Advanced Power Chairside Lamp aides in accelerating the whitening process.
Whiter Teeth… Sooner!
The Zoom! Whitening procedure takes about an hour to complete. The first step includes cleaning/polishing the teeth to prepare them to have an optimal outcome. Next there is a barrier placed on the lips and gums, leaving the teeth exposed. Then the whitening gel is applied and remains in place for 15 minutes while the Zoom! light is activated. A total of at least three gel treatments are performed.
After Your Treatment
After the bleaching process, it is important to avoid certain foods and beverages for a few hours. During the first few hours following a teeth whitening procedure, your teeth are very susceptible to staining. The general rule of thumb is to avoid things that could stain a white shirt. After a few hours, it is ok to resume normal consumption.
